Tesla is the best of the last 80's Rock bands still playing!
I saw Tesla a coupe of times BEFORE they were called Tesla (City Kid). I was at the taping of Love Songs back in the day (Sacramento Convention Center). I had not seen them in years as I moved pretty far away from civilization... I saw them last year at their home venue (Thunder Valley Casino) in Lincoln, CA... They were surprisingly great! I was only surprised because of the way Jeff Keith uses his voice, I assumed it would be shot after all these years (As are many other rick voices of the era). It was not shot at all! He has really been careful with his voice over the years. So we trekked down to Vegas to see Tesla for the second time in a year... We were NOT disappointed! Great small venue with Very close viewing. The show was a bit shorter than the previous show in Lincoln but the energy and intimacy of the show certainly made up for it. Frankly, the drunken idiots in the crowd made the shorter show seem plenty long enough. Seeing Tesla in Vegas was an awesome experience, but I do prefer to see them with their more loyal, die-hard fans. In Vegas some people show up to shows like this just for something to do, rather than for love of the band... In contrast, we travelled from Humboldt County, CA to see our beloved Tesla!
